Trans Balkan Race 2027 — 1,500 km of off-road racing from Trieste to Risan, Montenegro, told as it happens.
A headlamp comes over the ridge. The rider hasn't slept in thirty hours, the next village is forty kilometres away, and the light is about to turn blue. There's one camera out here. It's yours.
The Trans Balkan Race is an unsupported, off-road bikepacking race that starts in Trieste, Italy, and crosses Slovenia, Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina all the way to Risan, on the Bay of Kotor in Montenegro. Riders carry everything they need, follow a GPS track and decide for themselves when to eat, sleep and push on.
Remote mountain roads, karst plateaus, abandoned villages, heat by day and cold by night. It's one of the toughest — and most beautiful — races in Europe, and every edition is full of stories worth telling.
You'll be part of the Quota Zero media crew, following the race from the media car alongside photographers and drivers, in coordination with the organizers.

Short edits for social — reels and stories cut on a laptop between stages, while the race is still live and people are watching the dots.
Spot the moments, the faces and the small stories along the route. Your eye and your footage help us shape what we tell — during the race and after the finish.
Not just a camera. A teammate for twelve days on the road — someone who sees the story before it happens.

Briefing with the crew, then twelve days on the road.
Twelve days on the road together. Here's who'll be next to you.
Photographer and filmmaker from Trieste. He's spent years following ultra-endurance races across Italy, Slovenia, Norway and the Balkans, and founded Quota Zero to tell them properly. Off the bike, he's shot live productions like Cirque du Soleil. On the TBR he'll be your lead on the road.
Photographer and filmmaker from Trieste. A former enduro MTB rider, he's spent years shooting action sports — lately sailing — and co-founded 3011 Project. He's worked with Nicolò on live productions for Cirque du Soleil, and ran our second media crew at Istra Land 2026, his first ultra. On the TBR, he'll be right in the middle of the action.
More than a hundred of them — each one with a story worth telling.
Skills can be learned on the road. These can't — they're what we look for first.
We tell what really happens out there — the beauty and the hard parts. When something went wrong at the Trans Balkan Race, we didn't look away: we made Connecting Dots.
This is an unsupported race. We never help, guide or get in the way of a rider — no food, no water, no lifts, no shortcuts. The best shot is never worth someone's race.
Riders give everything to be here. We film them with respect, at their worst moments too, and we never fake a story they didn't live.
Operators, photographers, drivers: one team, no egos. We share the car, the sleep we don't get and the credit.
We deliver while the race is still live — and still hold every frame to the standard of the final film.
We cross places and communities that aren't ours. We leave them as we found them, and we tell them with care.
Nobody gets hurt for a frame — not us, not the riders. But inside that line, we don't back down: cold, rain, 4 a.m., a ridge to climb on foot, a night without a bed. If the shot is there, we go and get it.
Send us your showreel, tell us about your work and why you want to tell the story of the Trans Balkan Race.
